Care plan — partner, not vendor invoice.
WordPress hosting, software updates, security patches, daily backups, minor content edits, and a real 30-minute monthly call where we look at the data together. Transparent tiered pricing. Month-to-month — cancel anytime. No auto-renewal traps.
Six things this isn’t.
Most ”care plans” are auto-billed nothing. We define what ours isn’t, so the difference is concrete.
Month-to-month. 7-day cancellation. No fee.
We don’t lock you into 12-month commitments with auto-renewal fine print. Pay monthly; cancel anytime with 7 days’ notice. If we’re not earning the renewal, you shouldn’t have to pay for it.
Real monthly call, real data, real decisions.
30-minute video call every month. We look at GA4, GSC, Core Web Vitals, rank tracking together. Decide what to adjust. The call is the value; the report is the artifact.
Tiered scope, but no nickel-and-diming inside it.
Each tier has a clear scope of monthly hours and edits. Within tier scope, we don’t charge extras. Above tier scope, we have a clear hourly rate. No surprise invoices.
Real WordPress hosting, real performance.
We host on managed WordPress infrastructure designed for performance (Kinsta or Cloudways class) — not the $5/mo shared hosting most agencies resell. Your LCP stays under 2.5s.
Real security monitoring + response.
WAF, malware scanning, login hardening, automated security updates, breach response if it ever happens. We’ve never had a client breached on our care plan — but if it ever happens, response time is hours, not days.
One direct line. Email or text.
No support-ticket queue, no help-desk handoff, no account manager between you and us. Email or text directly. Response in one business day; same-day if it’s urgent.
Three tiers. Pick what fits.
All tiers include the baseline: hosting, backups, security, updates, monitoring. Tier differences are scope of monthly edits + strategic time.
Baseline — every tier includes
- Managed WordPress hosting · Kinsta / Cloudways class
- Daily off-site backups · 30-day retention
- WordPress core + plugin updates · Tested before applying
- Security monitoring · WAF, malware scan, login hardening
- Performance monitoring · CWV tracking + alerts
- SSL certificate · Auto-renewed
- Uptime monitoring · 24/7 with alert response
- Breach response · Should anything ever happen
Tier differences
- Essential — $200/mo · Baseline only · Async email support · No monthly call
- Partner — $400/mo · Baseline + 2 hours of edits/month · Monthly 30-min call · Quarterly performance review
- Strategic — $800/mo · Baseline + 5 hours edits/month · Monthly 60-min call · Active SEO + CRO recommendations · Search Console managed
- Above-tier work · $150/hr, quoted in advance, never billed without sign-off
- Care credit on next build · 50% of 6 months’ fees applied if you start another engagement
Process, not promises.
Every care plan client gets the same playbook regardless of tier. Tier sets scope of strategic time; baseline care is the same.

Three ways the relationship evolves.
Care Plan starts at one tier and shifts as your business shifts. Three common patterns we see.
Same tier, quietly compounding.
If the site is performing and you don’t need much monthly intervention, the Essential or Partner tier is right. We don’t try to upsell — we’d rather you stay 3 years on Essential than 1 year on Strategic.
Move to Strategic when you’re actively scaling.
Adding services, expanding geo, running paid campaigns that need rapid landing-page iteration — these are reasons to move from Essential/Partner to Strategic ($800/mo). 5 hours/month of senior strategic time is meaningful.
Drop tier when growth flattens out.
If you upgraded to Strategic for a specific scale period and you’re now stable, drop back to Partner or Essential. No fee, no penalty, no email tug-of-war. The relationship survives the tier change.
$200, $400, or $800/mo. Pick what fits.
All three tiers share the baseline (hosting, backups, security, updates, monitoring). Differences are scope of monthly edits + strategic call time.
Month-to-month · 7-day cancellation · No fee
- Essential — $200/mo: Baseline only
- Partner — $400/mo: Baseline + 2hr edits + monthly call
- Strategic — $800/mo: Baseline + 5hr edits + 60-min monthly call + GSC managed
- Managed hosting (all tiers)
- Daily backups (all tiers)
- Security monitoring (all tiers)
- Updates tested before deploy
- Uptime + performance alerts
- Breach response if needed
- Direct line (no support queue)
- Care credit on next build
Eight questions about care plans.
Most prospects are skeptical of care plans because they’ve been burned. These are the honest answers.
Is month-to-month really real?
Yes. Cancel anytime with 7 days’ notice. No annual commitment, no auto-renewal lock-in, no cancellation fee.
We make the 7-day window because we need to disengage hosting, transfer files, hand off accounts, and not leave you stranded mid-incident. After 7 days, you’re off the plan and we’ve handed everything over.
If you cancel and come back later, no re-onboarding fee. Pick up where we left off.
What happens if I cancel?
Day 1 of cancellation: hosting migration starts. We export your site to a portable WordPress backup (or transfer to your hosting account if you have one).
Day 7 of cancellation: hosting is migrated; your DNS pointed at your new host. Backups are transferred. WordPress admin remains yours.
Day 8 onward: you’re operating independently. You owe nothing further.
Which tier should I pick?
Essential ($200/mo): if you have an internal webmaster or marketing team and just need hosting + security + updates handled. No monthly strategic time.
Partner ($400/mo): if you make site changes monthly and want a senior to advise on direction. Most Authority Site clients pick this tier.
Strategic ($800/mo): if you’re actively scaling (new services, new geos, paid campaigns) and need senior strategic time. Includes GSC active management.
Start at one tier; change tiers any time with no fee.
I can get hosting for $10/mo. Why pay $200?
Hosting is one line item. The other $190 is: senior people watching the site, applying updates tested before deploy, monitoring security and uptime 24/7, fixing things when they break.
If your site goes down at 11pm on a Saturday, $10 hosting gives you a support chat with someone reading a script. $200/mo gives you a direct line to a senior who can actually fix it.
If your site never has problems, $10 hosting is fine. The $190 is insurance against the times when it does.
What counts as edits within tier scope?
Edits scope: copy changes, image swaps, new blog posts, new service pages, minor layout changes, new forms, new plugins, schema updates, redirect rules. Things a senior can handle in under 30 minutes per task.
Above-scope: large redesign work, new design systems, custom plugin development, ecommerce catalog overhauls. These quote separately at our hourly ($150/hr).
We tell you when something is above-scope before doing the work. No surprise invoices.
What’s your security record?
Zero client breaches under our care plan in our operating history. (We’re a new studio, so that’s a smaller sample than an established agency — but it’s true.)
What we do to maintain that: WAF, malware scanning, login hardening (2FA mandatory on admin accounts), automated security updates, locked-down file permissions, daily off-site backups.
If a breach ever happens, response is immediate. We isolate, identify, restore from backup, document, harden. You don’t pay extra for breach response — it’s in the base care plan.
Can I get a care plan without you having built my site?
Yes — with onboarding caveats. We’ll do a 1-hour care-plan onboarding audit ($150, one-time) to understand what’s already in place: theme, plugins, hosting, security posture.
If the existing site is in good shape (well-built theme, sensible plugin stack, no obvious tech debt), we onboard normally. If it’s a Frankenstein of conflicts, we’ll flag it and recommend redesign first.
We won’t take on care plans for sites we’d be embarrassed to put our name on.
What if my site goes down?
Uptime monitoring fires within 60 seconds. We’re alerted same-second. Response time target: under 15 minutes during business hours (8am–6pm ET), under 60 minutes off-hours.
If the site is down due to hosting, we engage the host immediately. If down due to plugin/theme/code, we roll back from backup and diagnose. If down due to traffic spike, we scale resources.
If we can’t restore within 4 hours of detection, we’ll personally write to every affected customer of yours and explain the situation. It’s never happened, but the policy is in writing.
Care Plan is a partnership tier, not a vendor invoice. The relationship is the value; the maintenance is the artifact.
